Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gulbadam is Jalaluddin's favorite aunt and longest-lived dragon in the cave. She rode with Jalaluddin's father on the warpath when he first chased out the magic-wielding humans in the area and established the cave. Gulbadam is the keeper of the stories and loves to spend her evenings regaling the youngsters with lore of old battles, intrigues, and love interests. She is currently writing a scroll recording the life and history of her father and brother, the forebears to the current cave ruler.
