Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

She is a terribly petty, selfish, and spiteful dragon, who many believe is a witch. Despite the fact that dragons are nearly immortal, she is willing to do anything to retain a youthful appearance. She once even went so far as to steal a baby dragon Princess and raise her as her own in able to utilize the young one's unusual magic. The princess had healing magic, even though she is a Purple, and was able to slow the witch's aging, and so she was kept hidden away from her real parents and grew up believing that this Hellfire was her mother. One day, when the lost princess was nearly an adult, she decided that she wanted to leave, and escaped while her 'mother' was out hunting. The witch was furious, but when she tried to reclaim what she thought was rightfully hers, the princess and her Whiptail companion defeated her, and with the last shred of her magic, the young Purple banished her captor deep into a realm of shadows.
