Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When Solafia got her wings, it was thought that she would mature to be the most beautiful dragon at the Hilltop Mews, and she really was.  They were beautiful, red, gold, and green wings that sparkled in the sunlight.  She loved to show them off to the other dragons, flexing and extending them to show off their radiant colors.  Ashtoret, the Black dragon, became jealous of Solafia.  One night not long after Solafia matured, Ashtoret escaped her cave and her handlers, hunted down Solafia's cave, and burned the younger dragon's wings so badly that they would never be shiny beautiful gold again.  When the feathers grew back, they were white like the scars beneath them.

Solafia now spends all of her time in Hilltop's special holiday barns, far away from Ashtoret.  She is no longer boastful of her wings, and spends most of her time taking care of the holiday hatchlings that live with her in the cave.
