Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

When Glass Eye was hatched, his albinism was labeled a genetic deformity, since he is also blind.  He was a sickly hatchling, until Atria, a white dragon, healed him.  He is still blind, but now he is otherwise very healthy.  She also had to halt his growth in order to keep him alive.  In spite of his misfortune, Glass Eye is pleasant to be around, and very playful.  He has taught himself to get around very well without the use of his eyes, and can even hunt some small prey for himself.
