Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Stormsea is a very old dragon, one of the oldest still surviving who remembers the Featherwing Weyr. It's illegal now, in the Weyr of Flame, to mention that old group of dragons, how so many lived together in relative peace. To do so undermines the authority of the ruler Flameflow, whose violent control of the majority of the continent's territory is meant to be beyond question.

Of course, it isn't, especially to the oldest dragons. Stormsea remembers the times before the War, when he lived with his mate, Skyscribe, and their offspring, Bluetrance, Bluefins, Blueshell, Bluedeeps... All gone, now, declared impure and driven out into the wastes. Stormsea doesn't know what became of Skyscribe, but he remains loyal to her memory, even as he works the jobs he's ordered in the Weyr of Flame. Some days, he wishes he'd perished in the fighting before letting his family be torn apart.

But he lives, and he remembers. When the time comes, Stormsea intends to be there to see Flameflow defeated.
