Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Those who see Xephre often don't immediately recognize her as a silver—her ratty mane and oft-muddied scales are not normal for a creature of such natural beauty. She takes her appearance and rarity for granted on her quest for adventure, often venturing alone into some of the most dangerous places on Valkemare. Although she inherited some amount of phasing from her shadow walker ancestors, she still bears as many scars as a typical black. Some say she is crazy, others think she is brave, but one thing is sure: she will never let a weaker dragon suffer. The dragons she helps are not necessarily helpless; simply they are somewhere way over their heads. Many of Xephre's scars she earned while pulling another dragon to safety.

Xephre has been known on rare occasions to find herself out of danger. She loves to play with children and often takes them on adventures to places they really shouldn't. She doesn't show herself to the parent, leading them to believe their child just made her up.
