Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It perfectly depicts spring weather.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Eternal Willowherb was one of the last spring dragons in her year of birth. When she felt the summer coming, she got the jitters to become a summer dragon. That's why she decided to be a spring hatchling forever.

The most important reason for her (pointless) decision was the willowherb she fears to watch wither in the course of time. And as the summer passed by she used her magical powers to keep a bundle of willowherb alive in the cave, hence the name.
