Grave Dragons are not named for their connections to death or burial, but for the grave expression on their faces. This strange expression is used as a defense mechanism that causes fits of panic and terror in potential predators. Since they only eat ash and charcoal, they do not hunt. Grave Dragons are powerful fire-breathers and have been known to burn down forests and villages alike to make meals. It is believed that the markings on each Grave Dragon’s wings are the faces of those who have lost their lives in fires started by that dragon.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Waylay is the light at the end of the tunnel, the sun's warm rays after a thunder storm. While his fellow Grave Dragons are rather emotionless or irascible, he is light-hearted and friendly. He enjoys the company of other species and finds it boring to stick with his own group.

Classified as a "social butterfly", Waylay has no trouble flitting around the cave, making new friends as he goes along. Other dragons find his personality delightful, and his company pleasant. He appreciates their fondness as much as they do him, mostly because of his new, strange species.

Waylay does not usually sport the grim expression that other Grave Dragons wear. His face is one of exuberance, most of the time. When he concentrates on tasks such as obtaining a meal, he displays the steely veneer only out of habit. He would never frighten another dragon on purpose, unless he was being threatened. Waylay also rarely uses his flames, and, similar to Demise, uses it solely to acquire food.
