Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. This dragon was actually named Radiant Gold Dragon, but he chose to follow the traditions of his ancestors and use his name in an obscure and little known language called "Saurian". Actually, Hutaudk Wect Thuwed even speaks in this language on a daily basis, so usually no hardly anyone understands him. He claims this is the way all dragons should talk, because it is the language of their creator, and refuses to change and speak in a more understandable language. This obviously is a cause for much confusion and miscommunication in the cave. But there are dragons who consider Hataudk Wect some sort of mystic guru of a long lost tradition, and they follow him wherever he goes.
