Speckle-Throated Dragons are an active, playful breed. They are easily excited and rarely remain still, spending much of their time in the air. Living in groups of up to sixty dragons, they nest in open plains and at the bases of mountains. Their speckled throats are their most distinctive feature, as well as the loud, echoing call they produce to communicate with one another. Male Speckle-Throats have a small crest on top of their heads, which they can flush with blood to intimidate enemies and attract mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Specsne is a very social dragon, a natural leader, many dragons are drawn to him and he is quick to guide them in anything they need. He was born on the cliffs by the sea, and raised in the clan. He knows everyone by name and manages the hunters of the clan. He is also in charge of the the food supply, and distributes it amongst the clan members with the help of his hunters and gatherers. Most of it is divided amongst the clan's familial and social groups, as most gather to eat together. He is the one that screams and yells, calling for everyone to come and have a good meal. The clan usually gathers in a circular space, surrounded on all sides by cliffs and faces the sea. This is the clan's lair, as it has many caves in the cliffs where dragons do sleep and rear young. He keeps the food in a secret area guarded by his friend, Clleve, a Tri-Horn Wyvern. Specsne finds the other's strength admirable and appreciates his honesty and dedication. The two often try to outdo each other on their jobs.
