Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Podis never had an easy life. She prefers glamourous music and harmonies that most dragons find silly, inane, and totally lacking any sort of artistic value. Her most harsh critics have been Geldorf and Blondie but pretty much everyone agrees that while she might be more talented than her mother, she is wasting her talents on meaningless "dancable" tunes; something the Moonsilver Artists' Association sees as an almost unforgivable crime.

But Podis stays true to herself and faces her critics head on. Even if they can't see the value of her music, she can and that's the important part.
