Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Very bright, its wings stand out to other dragons, thus using them to attract mates. This particular breed refuses to breed with none other than its own breed. It is very active during day, but does not do much during night. It is very playful, and it loves to mess around with other dragons. Females seem to be around him and he seems to be comfortable. He also enjoys feeding time! He loves to help others when they are in need of his assistance.
