Vampire dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only "alive" at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.
Though Lakari looked dead when she hatched, a few insisted that the hatchling was worth keeping just to see what would happen to it. To their surprise, she grew wings and began to come to life.
As Lakari grew, it became clear that she was a vampire. Many feared her for this reason and all were puzzled by it. It was often debated how had a vampire come to live in their cave and who had bitten her. These questions still remain unanswered even to this day. It is said that Lakari is a bloodthirsty sort who takes great pleasure in making eggs her own.
On the contrary, the female vampire is quite gentle. She remains hidden, however to keep the sunlight from her skin and to protect the other dragons from their fear. She bites eggs only to quench her thirst for offspring, but has not been successful yet.
