Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Slidderback is quite clever and an excellent on-the-go thinker, but alas his mind is currently filled with only one all-consuming thought—to beat Skinkish in a fair race.

So far he has lost every heat they have attempted together, and though he holds firm to the notion that she has taken advantage of everything from terrain changes to tailwinds, deep down he knows that she is simply slimmer, lighter, and faster due to her feminine build.

He strains himself to the limit every day, though, and refuses to give up. One day he may actually succeed in his quest to win, and then maybe he will slow down enough to notice that the dragon he is racing against is lithe, and beautiful, and enjoys his company immensely.
