Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

A loud, high-pitched cry came from the nests that lined her clan's camp. Although the mother was supposed to be taking care of the hatchling, she had gone off to hunt food. Peering through the woods and underbrush that lay around the eastern side of the mountainous camp, a green striped dragon stepped out of the trees. "Hush," she said to the little dragon, gently putting a claw on its head. She had no children of her own, and it was her greatest sorrow. However, she was known for taking care of other dragons' eggs while they were busy, and it gave her joy to see them growing up to become proud, strong and beautiful adults. Singing a soft melody, she put the hatchling to sleep, barely noticing when the mother dragon arrived and thanked her gratefully for calming the feisty little creature.
