Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Water behaves strangely around it, though the hatchling doesn’t seem to notice.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Marshanna's appearance, namely her golden body and diminutive size, reminds some of a fancy lyre. She doesn't get along too well with the authority figures in the clan because she loves making stuff up. She only tells white lies and is truthful about more important issues, but that still annoys the adults. A habitual fibber, Marshanna is also easily played: she isn't very bright and is very gullible. She doesn't like to be compared to an inanimate object, even if it's a pretty musical instrument, and when she realizes that people are talking about her, she scolds them, "You're calling me a lyre. Don't call me a lyre."
