Canopy Dragons love to soar above the tropical jungles and other densely forested areas. Their billowing, layered wings create generous lift that allows them to ascend effortlessly over the warm jungle. While their unique wings do not make them the fastest flyers, they are champion gliders. To further this end, dexterity, maneuverability, and grace are all judged by the females when selecting their mates from the males that can accurately complete the exhausting and elaborate courtship dance between the close growing branches of the upper canopy.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Brontio had lived in the jungle before he met Thornblade and Atlantro. He had ended up along the coast after a massive storm blew him from his home. He had never seen the open sea before and it scared him. Brontio had tried to fly home, but had no idea which way home was. That's when he met up with the other two and went with them to find a safe new home.

When they reached the cove Atlantro wanted to stop and live there. Brontio flew over to a nearby forest beyond the coast and returned with seeds and small saplings to plant. With Thornblade's help the trees grew quickly and healthy.

A few years after the cove had been revived, Brontio decided to fly off and see if he could at least find his old home to let his family know he was alright when he was attacked by another dragon.

His wing was broken, but a human girl found him and nursed him back to health. To show his thanks he invited the girl to return to the cove with him since she constantly stated how much she loved dragons.
