Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ryoko Star, like her sort-of-sister, enjoys fighting. She has many scars and displays them proudly. Unlike her sister, she has no sense of humor. She is cranky and easily annoyed. She likes to sleep in a dark shady corner of the Petunia Meadows. Waking Ryoko is not recommended, since the only one who did that and came away unscathed was her mate Ankastar. She will lay down her life for the clan though. If something threatens the clan, it will have to go past Ryoko before getting anywhere. There are rare times at night that you might find a giggling Ryoko chasing after bugs. She found Ankastar in one of her favorite bug-catching spots. She was furious, but all he did was ask her if she wanted to join in. Something made her agree. After that first hunt, she found herself spending more and more time with the laid-back dragon. Ryoko eventually confessed that she loved him to Ankastar and all he said was, "what took you so long".
