Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pelato is a friendly but sad dragon.  He loves hatchlings, but they are afraid of him.  The only dragon who really understands him is an elder, Pelateo's mate, in his clan who retired because of an injured wing. He does have a few friends, but they don't really understand his troubles.  He is a watcher in the Earth Draco Clan.  This means he watches over the eggs day and night.  He has hatched many eggs.  Hatchlings usually squeal in fright at the sight of him.  This upsets him.  He gets very bored because he has nothing to do, so he learned the humans written language.  He also learned math, and human speech.  He is the only dragon that can really speak and doesn't use telepathy.  He is incredibly smart, caring, and lonely.
