Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Savelia was an orphaned hatchling stolen from her parents when she was just an egg. She remembers vaguely some things about that time. She remembers being somewhat cared for as she grew inside the egg. She managed to hatch out of her egg and looked around for the very first time. The world was cold and she shivered some. She vaguely remembers the face of that human that had her. For whatever reason that human gave her up, abandoning her at the mouth of the cave. Being just a hatchling she was scared and fearful. That was when Ayanel came and adopted her. From then on she was raised alongside the eggs and other hatchlings in Ayanel's care. Being the eldest she became a surrogate mother of sorts to all the other hatchlings. She is even-tempered, although at times she can snap quickly if anyone gets out of line. When it comes to the other adult dragons her motherly nature vanishes, revealing a playful side to her. Loving and caring, Savelia has grown on all the dragons in this family.
