Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Drell is widely feared among Wolf's clan. No elder dragon dare speaks of him, and Wolf herself urges all creatures to stay away from his cave, which is dangerous in its own way.

Three years ago Drell attacked the clan, scattering those smaller than him as his fire fell from the sky like molten rain. Houses and caves were destroyed, the vault was ransacked and torn apart, and eggs were crushed and burned. Wolf panicked and gathered what dragons were left to help her craft a heat-resistant chain. After a long, bloody battle, Drell was finally captured and imprisoned in his cave. Traps to keep Drell in and strangers out were built.

Though that battle is over, and the clan is at peace, Drell's pained screams still drift from the cave from time to time, striking fear into elders and hatchlings alike.
