Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Simbelmyne's name comes from that of a beautiful flower, that often grows on graves. Sim got the name because of his reclusive nature; he tends to avoid the other dragons, spending his time wandering the fabled dragon graveyard. Kaini believes he is looking for something; the spirt of someone he lost. She often follows him, bringing him food and drink, and keeping him company. Occasionally, she will convince him to return to the rest of the clan, but he always leaves, as the other dragons shun his presence.

Perhaps one day he will find what he is looking for.
