Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys swimming in a nearby pond.

And look! Its fins and tail have gotten bigger, and you’ve moved it to a larger body of water to swim in. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Marino is water dragon frozen, now forever a hatchling. He now spends his days swimming in the same lake his mother resides in. Though small he is fierce and determined, often trying to catch prey bigger than he is. This usually gets him into a lot of trouble, requiring rescue and protection by his mother. Unlike his mother who stays underwater unless necessity demands otherwise, he will surface to play. One of his playmates being his sister Blakki, a black dragon that was also frozen. He has learned to quickly dive underwater to escape her playful, yet violent tendencies. Overall Marino is a very playful frozen-hatchling that will pop his head above water to splash nearby people or dragons, or throwing random things at them.
