Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Albino dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Bright Light Delight is a kind, fun, loving dragon, but defensive when provoked. He started out alone in cold weather until he was adopted. Bright was always wanting to play with someone, but he was a bit too shy to go around looking for a friend.

When bright grew up, he found an egg of his species. He raised the egg acting as if it were his own child. The day that the egg hatched, Bright named the hatchling "Gift of Snow", since it was a gift during the chilly winter. Gift of Snow and Bright Light Delight became very close friends. Unfortunately, they seperated since they both needed to live a life alone with their own mate. Bright Light Delight always remembers Gift of Snow and wishes to see him again.
