The egg faded away completely; in its place there’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t seem to have much substance, though.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

HR is a sad little hatchling. She knows that all life ends some day and that afterwards a dragon's soul is trapped without a body, doomed to haunt the world without ever being able to do more than maybe play with some ribbons or move some leaves. She sees those poor lost souls every day after all. HR is too young to understand that most souls pass on peacefully and that she only ever glimpses the last remnants of those who had been haunted already in life.
