Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Although she gets easily flustered when her plans fail. Ru is very caring and motherly, to the point of occasionally being overbearing, but always well-meaning. Despite Ru's intelligent and calm demeanor she has been known to be overwhelmed when confronted by an unknown force or an ability or situation she does not understand. Ru has a habit of sometimes letting important information slip out that were meant to be kept secret, and ending up backing herself into a corner when interrogated. Ru can project holographic images from her gemstone in her antlers, which she uses mainly as a visual aid when lecturing her clan. While most of the holograms seem to be intangible, some are able to interact with solid matter. The holograms typically function as distractions in battle, giving Ru time to escape.
