Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jazzi got Vuldemort as an egg from a mother who seemed to be over-burdened with eggs, as well as dealing with being crowded by many angry male dragons. Vuldemort's mother was so desperate to rid herself of her burden that she was willing to give her eggs away, even to a human. Ever since he hatched, Vuldemort was secretive about everything. He was especially touchy about his lineage. Jazzi is known for making a close connection with all the dragons in her cave. She was able to pry out of Vuldemort that all of the eggs and angry males came from his mother who had been forced to raise all of the males eggs because their mates were busy with other matters and ended up with too many eggs for one dragon to care for. Vuldemort also told Jazzi that his name came from his lineage. His mother was once The Dark Lord's pet. He was intended to be a dragon for the Dark Side. Ever since, his name has honored his lineage and showed that he can be respected for defying his destiny.
