Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems allergic to something, and every time it sneezes sparks shoot from its nose and mouth.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. Small bolts of electricity occasionally fly off of it, zapping nearby objects.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Thrud often bosses the other hatchlings around, watching over their play-fights, and dragging those playmates out who are either "dead" according to the rules or have hurt themselves. She doesn't accept any protest from either and lectures the first about the importance of rules and brings the latter to the nearest White.

When she's on her own, Thrud is rather quiet and enjoys lying in a meadow watching the flowers or the willows bending in the wind far more than romping around.
