Khusa dragons thrive in dry, desolate, and rocky areas. Though they can fly, Khusa enjoy honing their climbing skills on foot. Shortly after they hatch, parents are already teaching their young how to pick their way across cliff faces, escarpments, and thin ridges. The young are well cared for by their parents, but other Khusa in the area also look out for the young—despite not forming close-knit groups, these dragons form loose alliances with their closest neighbors. If a threat is spotted, they will attack from above and drive it to the ground where Khusa have an advantage.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

This khusa is fond of children nuggets—the common livestock birds often confused with the similar-looking extraterrestrial species known as chickens. She raises a small flock of children nuggets, naming every animal and treating them with much more respect than many think they deserve. While she is fully aware that children nuggets are not sapient nor long-lived like their more famous, space-based lookalikes, she believes their pea brains are more functional than many give then credit for—especially traditional breeds. The industrial children nuggets bred to grow fast are hardly animals, and she can rant for longer than she cares to admit about why those crosses should never be made int he first place. She likes to imagine the distant past, before the age of dragons, when ancestral children nuggets vied with early dinos over Valkemare's resources. She likes to read about the latest discoveries of giant children nugget fossils, and other prehistoric remains.
