Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deser' Rose is a descendant of a very rare species of dragon. When she reached adulthood, she traveled around the world in a search to find more of her own kind. Having failed in her quest so far, she found a home in the Great Desert, where she buried herself into the hot sands to replenish her energies, waiting for the time she will blossom again in one hundred years, like the legend of the Desert Rose.
