Geode Dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cat Ironwill has guarded the same remote cave for centuries.  As far as anyone can tell, there's absolutely nothing of interest there, and the general opinion is that she's somehow got it into her head that there's some sort of treasure there.  No amount of persuasion has managed to get her to change her mind, and by now most passing dragons simply shrug and make sure she has enough to eat.  In truth, Cat has a very important duty, indeed—she guards the main entrance to the domain of the legendary chronicler Mathcat Inktalon.  As payment, she gets to be one of the first to hear the magi's latest stories, and even occasionally serves as editor.
