And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Hyousenka is one of the few dragons on Firerubynat's grounds that is rarely seen, be it inside the Main Cave or outside it. No one can seem to keep track of him; even his nest-mates, Marcjuna, Madam Pink and Bonten no Amatsuki rarely meet or find him, and then only by accident. It was only recently that an inquisitive Jiang Jiang found his hidden lair, and there too discovered his primary reason for disappearing—with the passing of the winter season, Hyousenka has been feeling sleepier and sleepier until he at last succumbed into hibernation, and will probably not be active again until, at  the very least, next winter...
