Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon’s power.

Luna Orb is everything one would expect from a dragon with ties to the moon.  A gentle and kind lover of peace, Luna Orb prefers to avoid bloodshed whenever possible.  She came to Sol Orb's aid when she found him badly injured and weak from hunger.  Even after Sol Orb was strong enough to survive on his own, Luna Orb still wished to remain at his side.  The reason for this was because she was also separated from her old Moonstone clan as a hatching in the mist of a violent windstorm, and was therefore able to relate to Sol Orb's sorrow at loosing his former dragon clan.
