When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Malikian was the first dragon to be hatched and raised within the caverns. Although his breed isn't known as the most powerful, his spirit and ancient demeanor give of a majestic vibe respected and adored by all who continue to come into the caverns, may it be forever or just a visit.

Malikian tends to, of course, spend his days bathing and swimming in the waters connected to the ocean, the caverns providing an outlet to the crisp and clean sea water his kind tend to like. Besides that of never truly knowing the feel of fresh water on his scales, he hopes one day when his long life has finally met a peaceful end, he can in his dying moments, rest peacefully in a fresh water spring. How he will get there, however, he leaves to his fellow dragons and master, hoping they don't much it up.

His life mate is Niassa, another water dragon.
