Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Scarlet is a rather manipulative and self-serving dragon, and as her name suggests, she has a beautiful voice. In fact, her singing is so beautiful that she frequently uses it to force others to do her bidding. Fortunately other vampire dragons are immune. Her manipulative ways have led her to be resented and ostracized from Cuddly Wuddly Baby's coven. Despite this she does exceedingly well on her own. She uses her hypnotizing voice and intense beauty to hunt prey without lifting a finger. Other dragons have even witnessed small animals, pygmies, and even hatchlings be charmed into walking straight into her mouth. Her adoptive parent, w5aw5, has long suspected her of using her mind controlling abilities to get food along with other things from them, later causing w5aw5 to forget they ever gave her anything. Despite her success, Scarlet sometimes feels lonely and longs for a companion with which to spend her time and share her aspirations.
