Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

Pumpkin Bright isn't Evil's first assistant, though she doesn't know that. No, THIS dragon was the mad Almerald's first assistant, a Magelight just like Pumpkin.
But unlike her successor, this pygmy was filled with fight and fire, making her boss' life a misery at every given opportunity, by either "accidentally" collecting the wrong ingredients or by "mistakenly" throwing out potions-in-progress. In a fit of rage one day, the Almerald tossed a vial of potion at the little dragon, causing it to shatter and spill over her tiny form. The Magelight fled, but she did not know the damage had already been done: within a short space of time, her body turned against her, rotting and decaying until there was nothing left of the Magelight but a shuffling, mindless corpse.
Yet she has somehow retained enough of her mind to remember her hatred of the Almerald, and sometimes, when she is out on work, Pumpkin can feel eyes on her, eyes of something waiting for a chance to take revenge...
