As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Duskthorn is considered by most of his friends to be a little scattered and flighty. The truth is that he simply has so much energy, he hardly knows what to do with himself. The moment night falls, he's out of the cave, darting about, hunting his favorite, juiciest moths, and navigating by moon and starlight. He doesn't understand others' obsession with conversation or delving into the nature of things. The night is eternally young and beautiful. He needs little else to feed his soul.
