Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A-sock-alypse started out as a normal hatchling. He played a bit rough with the others and enjoyed practicing his fire-breathing on the woodland surroundings, although he was careful not to start any large blazes. However, one day he found a strange gathering of woodland creatures, all of whom seemed to go by the same name, "Sock". They asked him what his name was, but he did not know how to respond. When he attempted to speak, flames dribbled out from between his teeth, and the creatures ran away screaming, "A-sock-alypse! A-sock-alypse!" Confused, the hatchling ran after them but could not catch up. In the end, he returned to his cavern home, deciding that the kind creatures had given him his name, and henceforth requested that all call him A-sock-alypse.
