Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Midnight Moral stays up much later than the other Black hatchlings. When asked why, its eyes will become shifty and it will say, "No reason."

Actually, it does have a reason; Vampires. You see, Midnight Moral once read a book that said that vampires drink blood. Determined not to take anyone's word for it, and desperate to prove it itself, Midnight Moral decided to spy on the Vampire dragons and catch them in the act.

The Vampires are aware of the little would-be spy, and even the nicest ones enjoy putting on a good show of not drinking blood, and doing everything in their power to make Midnight Moral's daily Vampire Reports sound crazy.
