Avatars of Change are unpredictable, exuberant dragons whose unique connection to magic has saturated their entire bodies. It is said that possessing one of their iridescent scales can change one’s fate, and many have sought the favor of these dragons hoping to receive a scale as a gift.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Chrysali was meant to bring change. Well, at least that's what her parents say. Thankfully, opinions about her are mixed, as opposed to the widespread hatred her parents receive. There are those who fear her; the daughter of the powerful Guardian of Nature who is believed will destroy the cave in a catastrophic fight with another Guardian, and then there are those who admire her; the dragon said to be the one to shine a light in the dark, spiteful cave. Chrysali either isn't ready for that kind of burden yet, or she just doesn't care; she is often seen playing with her friend Altrian the Skywing or her mate Herugaa the Sunstone. She, however, occasionally looks after hatchlings, having raised Caterpira the Avatar of Creation and Motharen the Avatar of Destruction.
