Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The word anomaly is defined as something that is hard to explain, and this definitely applies to Anomaly. When Anomaly was brought into the cave as an egg, she was watched carefully like any other. But when the time of her hatching came, her egg was nowhere to be seen. Dragons searched high and low for her but she had completely vanished. The loss of a greatly anticipated hatchling was mourned briefly but soon enough everyone moved on. Then one day, a strange slot on the scroll appeared, belonging to a dragon named Anomaly. Since then, dragons have claimed to see her lurking in the woods outside of the cave or sneaking stealthily around, her glinting eyes warily observing the cave she supposedly belongs to. Then she disappears for a while and the sightings only become more common after everyone has forgotten about her. They believe that perhaps Anomaly simply doesn't want to be found, or perhaps she doesn't exist at all. She is truly an anomaly.
