Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rossi is one of fifteen dragons handpicked by the Anu clan leader Athia to help quell the rebellion during the clan war. Rossi is older, but with age comes experience and wisdom. In his youth he was a brave fighter and a natural clan leader. He fought his own war, and he came to the Anu clan after having lost his home and his family. One look at the injured dragon that hauled himself into the cave and the dragons said he would never fight or never be a leader again. Athia wasn't discouraged, and he brought him into the council. Rossi proved to everyone that he could, and he did. He rebounded with astonishing strength and power. He is a leader and a wicked fighter. The clans warriors have improved immensely under his direction. His experience in fighting a previous clan war is helping Athia and the other strategists take the war in a new direction. This dragon, one whom the others thought wouldn't fight again, is a valiant warrior against the rebellion.
