Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Photosynthetic was so named for his breed's ability to convert energy from sunlight, much like plants do. As this process is called photosynthesis in plants, a similar name was chosen for this Terrae male.

Photosynthetic was born into quite possibly the closest-knit family group that one could have found. The past tense is used because this family group was attacked one day by--well, no one really knows, and Photosynthetic isn't telling--and only Photosynthetic survived.

As he grew up he grew lonely. Upon finding a lone egg in the forest--a Terrae egg--he brought it home, and that was how Soft Grass came to him.

Photosynthetic raised Soft Grass lovingly, but more as a brother rather than a true parent. As they continued to live together their love for each other grew, into something surpassing family ties.

Soft Grass became Photosynthetic's first mate not long ago, and he hopes to add more Terrae into their family, either by finding lone eggs or his and Soft Grass's offspring.
