Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Royal lady of Undeath, Batty Boo did not have an easy start in life. Her two parents died in a terrible vampire dragon attack on their nest hidden far into the mountains, leaving her egg alone and set on the path to undeath after it was bitten by one of the attacking vampires, then abandoned. The end would have likely come had a chance discovery not been made of the mysterious egg, the likes of which had never been seen before by many dragons, was brought back to the main lair. Even after rescue, it suffered a lucky escape after the presence of the egg left many dragons feeling ill and wanting to abandon it again, unease only growing after the egg hatched a stillborn.

Officially taken in as the ruling dragon's own hatchling for protection, the leaders felt there was more to the stillborn, a point proven when the dead hatchling indeed grew and matured into Batty Boo.

Still somewhat untrusted due to her undead nature, Batty is a royal lady though has no claim to lead.
