Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gammal Greystone seems to be made completely out of gray stones, just like his name suggests. He is silent, calm and hardly ever moves, making most people believe he is actually a statue instead of a living creature. The only time Gammal takes the effort to show that he is actually a living being is when he uses either his tail or one of his huge, heavy wings to hit a creature that's passing by, on which he will feed himself before returning to his inanimate state again. Recently, next to his statue-like appearance, a female dragon of the same kind rests, just as inanimate as Gammal himself. Some whisper that she has chosen Gammal as a partner, but because neither of the dragons has ever taken the trouble to explain to anyone, their relationship remains a guess to everyone but themselves.
