Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When the baby dragon hatched from its egg, one of the first things it saw was a boy, no older than twelve. The boy was overjoyed to have watched a dragon hatch, and never left the youngster out of his sight even for a moment. The hatchling grew affection for the boy and almost came to think of him as his parent and protector even more than his own mother. The boy, Kyo, named the hatchling for his color, a mix of molted green and brown. Leaf grows older and starts to take a liking to Claire, a white healer dragon. He enjoys hearing what she has to say about herbs and medicines, and she's someone he can come and talk to about his troubles. Perhaps their relationship will grow to something more in the future.
