When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The first dragon to be stolen and raised by Vocabulations, Tidas is a friendly and social creature. She is very loyal to Vocabulations, whom she views as her human mother. Since she was a hatchling, Vocab has become much too busy to tend to the young on her own, so Tidas has taken the job into her own hands- Er... Flippers. She stays near the shore of the river she resides in to keep a protective eye on the cave in which Vocab leaves her hatchlings, raising the alarm if something seems amiss. When normal prey is scarce, she catches fish and offers it to the young.

Born as a child of a water and silver, it can only be assumed that she was an attempt to create a Silver like her mother, though instead, she hatched to be a beloved Water. She is proud to be the first adult dragon in Vocabulations' cave, and to be the mother or the first dragon born to the cave.
