Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lucian Firelune comes from a family of almost elite dragons that are on the top of the food chain in the clan. His grandparents are the alpha's of the clan, his mother is just as talented as them and has a very snappy father. Because of this a lot of dragons expect him to be just as successful and talented as his family. Lucian himself is very relaxed, steady, well-educated, considerate and courteous but even he will crack of all the pressure the clan gives him. As a hatchling he felt that he had to be more responsible and never really played. Lucian does seem to break out of his stereotype since he became an adult. Lucian does happen to have the potential to become the alpha someday because of his leadership skills. He must also be the only one in his family that knows how to interact normally with others and is also more loved because of this. Lucian has inherited the same dexterity and maneuverability from his father. He inherited his mothers fearlessness in facing his opponents.
