This breed of dragon results from eggs or hatchlings that have been neglected. They are usually rebellious, not obeying their masters, sometimes even attacking them. However, their neglect as a hatchling leaves them crippled, and they are weak compared to other breeds, causing them to stay with their masters for protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mahala came from a dark, more dangerous landscape before she traveled to Hobsyllwin's white ruins. She has seen very bitter and poor dimensions of dragon life, hailing from the wastelands where some herds of dragons had been banished by the councils of old. She overcame the odds against her, and survived- and holds a kind of knowledge one only can hold through a hard life. Mahala is tough as nails, even if her body has been weakened by her abusive past.

Her bitterness is quite apparent on the outside, but the other dragons have come to know and respect her as a friend. She spends isolated evenings watching the skies for any dangers, sharpening her claws, and hissing at the hatchlings that accidentally stumble too close.

If she had any close friends in the clan, they would probably be Belarios and Teriseth, the black dragons.
