Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Originally a member of Triumph Keep, Firstfall Vex Aurae is a rather unusual member of Dreamers' Keep. Unusual or not, this is now his place of rest, and it is from here that he helps Dreamers' Keep remain in touch with the rest of Eyrth. His dark scales are lightly tinged with silver at their base, meaning that in just the right light, he seems to ripple with silver as he moves. His mother is Dreamlash Andross, father Dreamsong Visha, and though he had been hatched here to be bound to a Rider from Triumph Keep both he and the rider considers Triumph very much their home. Their stay at Dreamers' Keep is likely to be a short one.
